Northern Hearts - Walk with Doc
Walk with Doc
"A Golden Opportunity for Social Exercise"
Northern Hearts offers programs to empower Thunder Bay to live healthier, reducing some of the underlying causes of stroke and heart disease.
Walk with Doc encourages people to engage in physical activity on a regular basis. It will be held from June 6 to June 30, Mondays through Thursdays at Birch Point Park, Boulevard Lake beginning at 7:00 p.m. It is free to everybody.
"We found that people look forward to walking as a group, and enjoying the social part of this physical activity", says June Bjorn, Administrative Coordinator. "Bring your parent, bring your friend, or come alone. There’s always someone to walk with."
"Walk with Doc has become a tradition as doctors and host organizations volunteer their time to encourage people to live well," says Dr. Chris Lai, Cardiologist and Past Chair of Northern Hearts. "This is the 8th year that Northern Hearts has coordinated this event."
